Meet Our Team

Dr. John Conrad

Spring Garden Dentistry, Halifax, NS - Dr. John ConradDr. Conrad completed a Bachelor of Sciences (B.Sc) degree at the University of New Brunswick, and went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Dalhousie University, receiving the Oral Surgery and Fixed Prosthodontics awards at graduation. Following graduation, Dr. Conrad became a member of the Canadian Forces Dental Corp in 1984 and served until 1988. This gave him excellent experience to begin his work in private practice, and in 1991, Dr. Conrad took over the practice of Dr. E.S. Morrison.

Dr. Conrad has a special interest in cosmetic and implant dentistry. He has completed numerous advanced training courses to develop his proficiency in these fields, in order to provide the best possible care for his patients. His pursuit of excellence was rewarded in December 2007 when he was awarded a Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is a member of the Nova Scotia Dental Association (NSDA), and the Canadian Dental Association (CDA), and has been a part-time instructor at Dalhousie Dental School.

Dr. Conrad was born in Halifax, N.S. and was raised in Moncton, N.B. He is married with a blended family of six children. He is a past minor baseball and basketball coach and maintains an active interest in several sports. When away from the office, Dr. Conrad enjoys golfing, travelling, and carpentry.

Dr. William Presse

Spring Garden Dentistry, Halifax, NS - Dr. William PresseDr. Pressé received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University and began work as an accountant for a small sports firm, followed by a position with an investment company. Dr. Pressé decided to return to university to pursue his interest in the sciences. He received his doctor of dental surgery from Dalhousie in 1984 and upon graduation was awarded the Endodontics Award, the Periodontics Award, and the Clinical Practice Award.

Upon graduation Dr.Presse worked with the Canadian Military as a general dentist. He left the forces in 1988, and took over the practice of Dr. Archie Morrison. This practice, in conjunction with Dr. Conrad, became Spring Garden Dentistry in 2001.

Dr. Pressé has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry. He enjoys combining both scientific and artistic elements to create an improved appearance for his patients. Dr. Pressé is especially enthusiastic about his daily interaction with his patients.

Dr. Pressé is continually working to improve his dental skills and learning new dental technology. Continuing education is a priority for Dr. Pressé in order to provide his patients with the best and most current dental care. He is a member of the Nova Scotia Dental Association (NSDA) and the Canadian Dental Association (CDA). Dr. Pressé has also taught at the Dalhousie School of Dentistry.

Dr. Pressé lives in Halifax with his three children and their family dog. Outside of the dental practice, he enjoys playing golf and squash. He has participated in competitive bridge since the age of twenty. Dr. Pressé is an avid reader and has recently adopted gardening as a hobby.

Dr. Dan MacLellan

Spring Garden Dentistry, Halifax, NS - Dr. Dan MacLellanFollowing in his grandfather’s footsteps, Dr. MacLellan pursued a career in dentistry. His attention to detail, work ethic, and affinity for people contribute to his abilities as a general dentist.. He enjoys the many aspects of private practice, including restorative, cosmetic, and implant dentistry, as well as the daily interaction with his patients. Dr. MacLellan places great emphasis on informing his patients of the treatment options available to them and ensuring their satisfaction with treatment rendered.

Dr. MacLellan completed an advanced Major in Biology at St. Francis Xavier University in 1999, followed by his Doctor of Dental Surgery at Dalhousie University in 2003. Upon graduation, he practiced in St. John’s, Newfoundland for two years, and joined Spring Garden Dentistry in 2005. He is a past member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Dental Association, and currently a member of the Nova Scotia Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association, Halifax County Dental Society, and Atlantic Implant Study Club.

Dr. MacLellan was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia and relocated to Sydney River, Nova Scotia where he spent his junior high and high school years. Now living in Halifax, his interests outside of dentistry include hockey, golf, hiking, biking, camping, travelling, and music.

Dental Hygenists

The dental hygienists at Spring Garden Dentistry are committed to providing their patients with a high standard of dental care. They assist their clients in achieving and maintaining optimal dental health, which supports good physical health. The hygienist team at Spring Garden Dentistry is dedicated to continuing education, which allows them to offer superior treatment and assist patients in making informed decisions regarding their oral health. Several of the hygienists also teach at the Dalhousie School of Dentistry.

The hygienists at Spring Garden Dentistry conduct oral cancer screening as well as treating and preventing periodontal (gum) disease and other conditions.

Dental Assistants

The dental assistants working alongside the dentists at Spring Garden Dentistry prepare patients for procedures and ensure their comfort. They are responsible for sterilizing all instruments and equipment. The assistants also do many in-office lab procedures, including creating models and whitening treatments. The dental assistants will obtain accurate patient dental histories, educate patients in good oral hygiene, and address any questions or concerns regarding treatments.

Office Staff

The office staff will ensure that a visit to Spring Garden Dentistry is pleasant and effortless for the client. The welcoming and friendly office staff is happy to interpret dental insurance policies, process insurance claims, and setup payment plans to suit their patients. They also encourage booking your next dental appointment before leaving the office to guarantee availability.
